About Ping My Pet

Hello, I'm Chloe.

I know the feeling of a pet going missing, because it's happened to me twice: once with my cat, and once with my dog. Both times, they came home thanks to a classic engraved tag with their name and my phone number on it. I'll always be grateful for those tags, and to the people who took the time to call.

But it got me thinking about what a tag could do. A classic tag only has room for a name and a number, which anyone can read. It can't say if your pet needs medication or gets nervous around traffic, and if you move or change your number, you need a whole new tag. I wanted something better.

By day I'm a software engineer, so I built it. Anyone who finds your pet can scan the tag with their phone camera and message you straight away, with no app to download and no subscription to pay. Your phone number stays private unless you choose to share it, you can update your pet's details whenever you like, and if they ever go missing, you can switch on lost mode to be told the moment their tag is scanned.

Every tag is engraved, then scanned and checked by me before it's posted. If something isn't right, I'd rather catch it than have you find out when it matters most.
